Higher education
A university tradition as old as Oxford's, internationally ranked business schools and growing numbers of English-taught degrees.

Public universities rank well nationally and internationally, and private universities also provide a high-quality education. Leading private universities include the University of Navarra, IE University, Universidad Europea, Ramon Llull and CEU San Pablo. IE Business School, IESE and ESADE are among the best-ranked business schools in Europe.
Most teaching is in Spanish; bilingual and English-taught programmes are mainly found at the best-known universities and usually cost more. International applicants do not always need the Spanish EBAU exam: public universities may require PCE subject exams through UNEDasiss, while private universities run their own selection. Spanish programmes require DELE or SIELE certificates; English programmes require IELTS or TOEFL.
Les Roches Marbella is one of the world's leading hotel management schools, with bachelor's, diploma and postgraduate programmes.
